Run AR Clip VPS on Magic Leap 2. The build includes controller bindings for the headset. It is available only on Enterprise.

Get access

  • Email support@arclip.design with your Magic Leap organization ID and deployment timeline.
  • You get:
    • a private UPM registry URL with the com.webarvps.vps.ml2 package;
    • side-loadable .zip archives with preconfigured Android projects and sample scenes;
    • a deployment checklist: certificates, spatial permission prompts and controller gestures.
Enterprise only

The Magic Leap 2 build and its tools are not part of the public SDK.

Requirements

  • Magic Leap 2 with OS 1.4.0 or newer
  • Magic Leap Hub with the ml2 Unity extensions
  • Unity 2022.3 LTS with a Universal Render Pipeline (URP) profile
  • An AR Clip VPS API key, with maps published for indoor use. Get a key at arclip.design or email support@arclip.design.

Set up

  1. Add the Enterprise package feed to your project's Packages/manifest.json. Use the registry URL that AR Clip sends you:
    {
    "scopedRegistries": [
    {
    "name": "AR Clip Enterprise",
    "url": "<your-enterprise-registry-url>",
    "scopes": [
    "com.webarvps.vps",
    "com.webarvps.vps.ml2"
    ]
    }
    ]
    }
  2. Install the Magic Leap 2 package in the Package Manager.
  3. Switch the platform to Android (File → Build Settings → Android) and import the sample scene Assets/WebARStudio/MagicLeap2/Scenes/SpatialLocalization.unity.
  4. Update the localization settings on the VPSLocalisationService component:
    • Set Fails Count To Reset to 3.
    • Set Localization Timeout to 1.5.
    • Add your location IDs.
  5. Build and deploy with Magic Leap Hub. On first launch, allow camera, depth and meshing access.

Testing checklist

  • Test VPS indoors. We recommend at least 120 lux of light.
  • Check that the controller trigger shows and hides the localization HUD.
  • Use the included PoseDiagnostics prefab to watch drift and re-localization events.
  • If you rely on meshing data, run the sample Spatial Anchors scene.

Support

Enterprise accounts get a dedicated Slack channel with AR Clip solutions engineers. Use it for help with OS updates, firmware regressions or custom viewer needs.
